The Nomination Committee can be seen as one of the keys to building a foundation for good Governance. In fact, some experts may argue that credit unions fail to be sustainable without a proper functioning Nomination Committee. A strong nominations committee will ensure that members will be nominated based on a demonstrated record of possessing the qualifications and competencies necessary for effective governance and leadership. This course takes you through considerations for establishing the demonstrated record.

In this session participants should expect to:
• Identify the role of the nomination committee.
• Take a look at some critical functions of the Nomination committee
• Advising on Volunteer job descriptions and establishing minimum qualifications and qualities of volunteers

• Recruitment strategy and candidate preparation
• Preparing for and conducting interviews
• Making unbiased decisions and submitting effective reports
• Preparing for elections
• Advising on Candidate & Volunteer Orientation

Task: Conduct a simple Gap Analysis of CU current position
